long time eh?

summer's been good. largely relaxing. largely netflixy. road trip down the coast was beautiful, going up to Ukiah was chill and Seany. i hate saying goodbye to people -- rather, i'd rather be the one leaving for college already instead of standing round like a twit and going "oh... see you in three months, then." jeff, jj, alyse, bensick, monica + sam, josh c, abby, and more to come. my roommate's from India and basically everything about college sounds much more exciting than sitting round here waiting for people (some in particular, but actually not really, well yes really) to call -- which they won't since my phone is gone. i've been quite fat this summer and so i should work on that before backpacking. or...my dad made me a smoothie. so i'm going to work on that right now.

This actually happened a few days ago but it was funny so I'm writing it down. Beats doing math test corrections, yes?

Jubles and I are pretending to go out, because we are weird. Well really I am weird and Jubles knows just to go with the flow. Ergo we are doing the line-waiting sway (aka that annoying thing where the guy like encages the girl in his arms, or would if Jubles weren't about 1 inch taller than me).
Enter Josh.
Josh: You two would make a really good couple.
Jubles: ... She's a little short for me.
Me: Hmph! It is so over. Again.
Josh: Wh-wh-what? You two actually went out?
Me: Mmmhmm. For like forty seconds. To screw with people's heads.
Jubles: Yeah that was really mean.
Me: Fuck you.

Then later, I'm talking to Josh

Josh: So wait, are you guys really back together? (Proceeds to do this adorable Snoopy-style happy dance.)

Also, this weekend my parents and I went up to Napa with Lyla's parents (but not Lyla) for ahi salad and duck with caramelized onions and honey parfait and art and free chocolate. Money.

So Liz couldn't make it to rehearsal today. Salil forgot that she had emailed him to announce her planned absence, so I (the dragon's assistant aka the S&M aka the stage manager) called her house and left a message wondering where she was. I got this email later today:

Dear Ms. [my last name],

I'm sorry that I couldn't make it today. I e-mailed Mr. Singh and told him that I might not be able to make the rehearsal today because an urgent doctor's appointment was scheduled at 2:15. The appointment lasted longer than anyone thought it would and ended at 4:00.

I apologize for not e-mailing you. Should I do so in the future?

The MOMA with Sean my Ukiah friend. Dinner with Julian and family. The crappiest 2 or so hours I can remember. Jamaican metal band/"Jolene." Meghan and I getting three morning buns for the price of one at La Farine on Solano, then having a "secret society meeting" (my dad called it) later in the evening. Lunch with my wife. Brokeback Mountain with Ali, Elias, Meghan + sleepover at Ali's. Reassurance, well sort of. Way too much Food Network. Cookie-making at Caitlin B.'s and being .5 of the diversity. Chilling and decidedly non-hallucinogenic tea with Willy. Christmas with the family. Rio-spotting and dog-finding (Tami) with Caitlin. New Year's at Chelsea's. Braces off. And probably a lot of other stuff that I forgot about. Back to school => much stress and other unpleasantries. Lots of needless shopping, laying out nude. You know, the usual "OMG whatever. Fuck this shit, I'm turning suburban" pre-finals attitude.
